This machine is fittedwith an approvedmoulded 13 Amp plug.
To change a fuse in thistype of plug, pleasefollow these
instructions.
a Take off the fuse cover and takeout the fuse.
b Put in a new fuse which should bea BS1362 3A,A.S.T.A.
or BSI approved type.
c Refit the fuse cover.
If the plug fittedis not suitablefor your socket,cut it offand fit
another type.
If the plug you fitcontains a fuse,it should be a 3Ampfuse. If
you fit a plug whichdoes not need a fuse,make sure the fuse
on your fuse boxis not greater than5 Amps.
DNote: Please destroy the plugyou have cut offso
that it cannot be usedin a 13 Amp socket
somewhere else.
How to connect a plug
The wires in the leadfrom the video recorderare coloured as
follows.
* Blue - ’neutral’(’N’).
* Brown - ’live’(’L’).
d Connect the blue wire to the terminalin the plug whichis
marked with the letter’N’ or colouredblack.
e Connect the brown wire tothe terminal in theplug which
is marked withthe letter ’L’or coloured red.
f Do not connect either of the wiresto the terminalin the
plug which is markedwith the letter’E’, the symbol\or
coloured green or green and yellow.
Before you refitthe plug cover, makesure that thegrip at the
bottom of the plug isclamped over theplastic cover ofthe
lead, not just overthe two wires.
How to connect your video recorder to the
TV set
We recommend the useof a scart cable. Thiswill giveyou the
best picture and soundquality.
When you installyour video recorderfor the firsttime, please
read:
E If your TV sethas a scart socketand you are usinga
scart cable, pleaseread the section ’Connectingwith a
scart cable’.
E The section ’Connecting withouta scart cable’,if you are
not using a scartcable.
Connecting with a scart cable
a Switch off the TV set.
b Remove the aerial cable plug fromyour TV set and insert
it into the 2 socket at the backof the video recorder.
c Plug one end of the aerial cable providedinto the 3
socket on the videorecorder and the otherend into the
aerial input socketon your TV set.
d Plug one end of the scart cable intothe EXT.1 AV 1 scart
socket at the backof the video recorderand the other
end into the scartsocket on your TVset (see instruction
manual TV set).
e Switch on the TV set.
